EPSO GENERAL MEETING
YORK UNIVERSITY

Sunday, June 25

EPSO's second meeting was held Sunday, June 25 at 2:00pm at the Cock and Bull Pub at York University. We  discussed campaign strategy, played EE trivia and watch the Naked Truths video (starring Grant and Phil). Special thanks to Ellen Stenson, owner of Little Bit of Britain (905-819-9820) for donating trivia game prizes!!

With EPSO awaiting word from the BBC concerning their efforts to sell EE in this market (see Newsletter # 9), the membership agreed that no specific action was needed at this time. However, EPSO would need to mobilize quickly should the BBC fail to secure a new home for EE. Approaching WNED with a new proposal based on EPSO membership support was one contingency considered. As the BBC is also applying for a BBC Canada channel, EPSO may direct its membership to lobby the CRTC to approve the channel application.

It was also noted that Rob's letter was finally published in the Toronto Star (he originally submitted the letter in late March) and that it seemed to be generating lots of interest in EPSO.  This was very welcome news as a surge in membership bodes well for EPSO and the fight to bring EE back.

No date was set for the next EPSO meeting but an early autumn gathering is probable.
